The search for new places DaRò led us to C'era una volta, a restaurant in Potenza, Basilicata, which arises from the owners' desire to put the old paternal trattoria back on its feet, already active in the 60s.

The ancient spirit of the paternal restaurant relives through typical and well-preserved settings with ancient objects, flavors and environments in a journey where the story tells itself.

Thanks to the careful research of the owners, the guests of C'era una volta are welcomed in rooms with an ancient taste that recall a part of the experience of the Potentine tradition: a room, for example, reproduces a 1950s school, then we find a historic bar and an outdoor courtyard with a vintage flavor.

The cuisine of C'era una volta is an excellent cuisine that enhances and innovates the Lucanian tradition: we let ourselves be intrigued by the menu and we experimented with ravioli stuffed with cod, crunchy pepper, slightly oily and very pleasant to the taste, egg with chickpea and truffle puree and stuffed potato, the most coveted house specialty.

The wine cellar, designed to enhance the flavors of Basilicata, is also well served. We just have to recommend a dinner at C'era una Volta, both as a culinary experience and as a real travel experience to discover the true essence of Basilicata, involving all the senses with the pleasure of being at the table.
