DaRò at Njlaya for the a tennis and food experience event

How much does nutrition affect sports training? We talked about it on Friday 26 October during the "Table Tennis" workshop organized by DaRò Wellness Cuisine and the Njlaya Club.

During the event, followed with interest and participation by an audience of sportsmen and tennis players in the splendid location of Njlaya, there was talk of the importance of nutrition in tennis training and sport in general.

"Usually when we talk about nutrition we only think about weight loss - said during the event Dr. Dalila Roglieri, creator of the DaRò Wellness Cuisine project and passionate tennis player - but in sports nutrition the discussion is different: the goal is make the sportsman healthy and nourish him in the best way so that he is at his maximum capacity on the tennis court ”. "The athlete - explained the nutritionist - needs all the energy to compete and needs a correct nutritional intake before, durations and post training: a poorly fed athlete is in fact subject to cramps, fatigue and painful injuries".

How is the sports food plan created? The nutritionist told how to approach the athlete by evaluating the physical characteristics, the style of play and the eating habits, going to correct them where they prove to be wrong. Nutrition can radically change the sporting life of an athlete, as happened to Novak Djokovic, the Serbian champion who in 2010, discovering he was lactose and gluten intolerant, had to change his diet to find energy on the pitch.

Finally, Dr. Roglieri shared some specific tips for athletes with the participants. These include the importance of hydrating to avoid harmful complications such as heat stroke and cramps and that of carbohydrates in exercise, the "fuel" of choice for most sportsmen.

The evening ended with an exceptional dinner entitled "Table Tennis" designed by Dr. Dalila Roglieri in collaboration with the chef of Njlaya.
