“It is often said of my kitchen that it is simple. It is very true, in the sense that it lacks complication, yet it implies considerable complexity. Complexity in the kitchen can be advantageous, complication never ". These are the words of Niko Romito, self-taught chef who has been managing the Reale *** restaurant since 2000 and who has won 3 Michelin stars in just 7 years.

The Reale *** is now located in "Casadonna", inside a 16th century monastery, surrounded by greenery and surrounded by the mountains of the Abruzzo National Park. The estate extends over 6 hectares, 800 meters above sea level, and includes an experimental vineyard (planted in Pecorino, an indigenous grape variety which finds its most extreme altitude in the region here), an orchard and a garden of aromatic herbs and spontaneous.

The imposing restoration of the monastery, which at the time of the acquisition was in a state of neglect, was commissioned in 2009 by Niko Romito: the chef was looking for a new location for the Reale restaurant (at the time located in Rivisondoli) and a neighborhood general for its expanding business. Casadonna welcomes visitors to the 9 rooms of the charming hotel - designed by Niko with his sister Cristiana Romito.

Each room is soundproofed, dressed in art, in soft colors and organic materials, and equipped with a Hammam. Guests are given an extraordinary gourmet breakfast which is distinguished by brioche, cakes and bread prepared in the bakery and pastry shop of the Reale *** restaurant, fresh juices and juices, almond milk, honey, yogurt and butter from the best farmer.
